Create and translate

Download source video or audio

Bring an online source into your local workflow and understand where downloading ends and translation starts.

Download a source

  1. Open the media-download view in the desktop app and paste the source page URL.
  2. Choose video or audio from the options supported for that source. Use any existing platform sign-in session required for access.
  3. Start the download and monitor the reported status. Keep the app and destination storage available.
  4. Open the result to check that it contains the intended media, then import it for transcription, indexing or translation.

Quality and access depend on the source

The download view uses the supported source formats and settings available in the app. Not every platform or URL exposes the same formats, quality or access conditions. This guide does not promise a resolution that the app or source cannot provide.

Use media you are authorized to access and reuse. A completed download does not itself establish rights to republish a translated version.

If a download fails

  • Check that the URL is a supported media page rather than an unrelated page or expired link.
  • Check the source’s availability and whether a sign-in session is required.
  • Check the destination folder permissions and available storage.
  • Read the download error before retrying; retrying alone will not resolve an access restriction.

Continue with local production

Download prepares the source file. Transcription and indexing are separate tasks, and translated audio or lip sync require their own reviewed workflow. Check the downloaded file before queuing a long job.
