Make and refine an AI rough cut

Describe an editing goal, inspect the proposed passages, and review the assembly before export.

Describe the outcome

Start with indexed footage and choose the rough-cut task. Give the subject, intended audience, approximate duration and the context that must remain. Clear editing goals are more useful than simply asking for a video to be shorter.

Create a short explanation of the product launch decision.
Keep the reason, the owner and the deadline.
Use complete statements and preserve the original meaning.

Review and refine the assembly

  1. Choose the rough-cut task and the project or passages to use.
  2. Enter your editing goal and run the task. Wait for the result rather than repeatedly submitting the same request.
  3. Play the proposed sequence. Check context, speaker continuity, repetitions and transitions.
  4. Use the available text, clip or prompt controls to revise the selection. Recheck the full sequence after a change.
  5. Export the reviewed cut or translate the selected material into another language.

A cut and a rewritten dialogue are different tasks

A rough cut selects and arranges existing material. Rewriting dialogue changes the intended spoken text and can require new speech and lip sync. Choose the task that matches your goal and review the changed meaning when generating new dialogue.

Keep the original recording available

A project’s selections refer back to its source material. Moving or deleting the original file can interrupt preview or export. Keep a copy of the reviewed output and retain the source when you expect to make further versions.
