Bonframe’s Media download workspace accepts a supported video-page URL and prepares a video or audio file you can preview and save. Use it to bring permitted source media into your editing and transcription workflow on Mac or Windows.
Download the Bonframe desktop app
Install the desktop app to use this workflow. The current video setting is up to 1080p, subject to source availability.
From a YouTube link to a file you can use
Open Media download in the desktop workspace. Paste the video page URL into Media URL, choose video or audio, and start the download. Follow the resolving, downloading and saving status. When complete, preview the result and use Save to keep the file.
Downloads use the existing download engine and available platform sign-in sessions. A link can fail because of source availability, authentication or network conditions. Review the displayed error rather than assuming every public-looking link is downloadable.
Use source material you are entitled to download and process, subject to the platform’s applicable terms.
Downloading is the first step
A saved file is not yet a transcript or translated video. For speech recognition, put supported video files in a local folder and use batch video transcription. For a new spoken language version, continue with the YouTube creator translation guide.
A folder of interviews can become a searchable collection: download the permitted sources, save them together, run folder ASR, review the text, then select useful moments for a rough cut or translation.
Video or audio?
Choose video when you need the picture for editing or lip-sync review. Choose audio when you need the sound file. Do not assume the folder ASR scanner accepts audio-only downloads: its currently supported inputs are video files.
The app shows the artifacts produced by the job. Check the actual filename and format instead of assuming that every source can be converted to any format.
Is this available on Mac?
The desktop product provides a Mac download. Check the package and hardware requirements; the advertised Mac package is arm64 for Apple Silicon. The Mac translation guide explains model and device preparation for the later translation stage.
Where are the download instructions?
Follow how to download YouTube videos with Bonframe, then review the saved file before starting transcription or editing.
