For a multi-person interview or panel, a useful HeyGen alternative must preserve who said each line, keep voices distinct and let you inspect the translated result. Bonframe offers a desktop route from source transcription to reviewed dubbing and optional lip-sync checks. HeyGen and Vozo also advertise multi-speaker workflows, so a comparison needs to distinguish their actual features rather than assume a two-person ceiling.

What does “multi-speaker” mean?
Count these separately: distinct voices across the whole video, visible faces in one shot, people speaking at the same time, and faces selected for lip sync. A panel with eight guests appearing in separate shots is different from eight people talking over one another in one frame.
Speaker recognition, translated voice generation and face-to-voice mapping are separate stages. A transcript can contain several speakers while a particular lip-sync mode has different requirements.
Bonframe: review the conversation on your own workstation
Bonframe’s workflow uses speaker-labelled dialogue and voice references. Inspect the source transcript, correct speaker assignments, review the target-language script, generate the voices and then check the exported video. This is useful when you want control over the selected footage and each language version on your Mac or Windows workstation.
Start with a representative scene. Check that recurring speakers retain the right voice across cuts, that short guest responses have not been merged into the host’s lines, and that the translated speech still fits the shot. See the original-voice translation guide.
Speaker handling depends on the recognition path and configuration. Verify coverage for your actual cast before processing the full video. This page does not claim unbounded automatic diarization or guaranteed results for any number of simultaneous speakers.
HeyGen: compare the translation engine, not the podcast generator
HeyGen’s current Video Translation guide distinguishes a simpler Speed route from Precision handling for more demanding conversations. Its official translation integration guidance also describes a multi-speaker case with an explicit speaker-count setting.
HeyGen’s Video Podcast documentation describes a two-host avatar generation feature. That limit should not be presented as a universal limit for translating an existing interview. Ask which translation engine and review workflow apply to your footage.
Vozo: distinguish dialogue translation from face selection
Vozo’s current Lip Sync page describes multi-speaker scenes and a workflow for choosing the faces to animate. Its Translate & Dub help collection separates transcript and speaker review, voice changes and lip sync.
The pages reviewed for this comparison do not establish a universal six-speaker translation ceiling. Face-selection limits, older product descriptions and concurrent-task allowances should not be treated as the total number of speakers supported in a video.
Compare with one representative conversation
Use a short clip with the same source and target languages for each product. Include a recurring host, multiple guest turns, a camera cut and any difficult overlap found in the real recording. These are evaluation steps, not results from a test conducted for this page.
Check the transcript and finished video for:
- Correct speaker labels, including brief responses and off-screen voices.
- Distinct target-language voices that remain consistent when someone returns.
- Accurate names, terms and meaning, not only fluent-sounding sentences.
- Pauses, timing and audio balance through speaker changes.
- Correct mouth movement for the selected visible speaker when lip sync is used.
- A practical way to correct mistakes before approving the export.
For a larger cast, first test the number and scene conditions you actually need. Do not assume that success with two people proves success with six or eight, or that a configurable number alone proves quality.
Which workflow should you choose?
Consider Bonframe when you want a desktop media workflow, reviewable dialogue and a route from downloaded or local material through folder ASR into editing and translation. Compare HeyGen’s and Vozo’s cloud workflows against the same scene if you prefer their online tools and review experience.
The useful decision is whether your cast, audio and shot conditions can be reviewed and delivered reliably. “Supports multiple speakers” is a starting point for testing, not a quality score or a guarantee of unlimited people.
Can Bonframe translate a video with more than two participants?
Use the multi-speaker workflow and confirm that the selected recognition path preserves all required speaker labels. Review voice references and the finished output for each participant. For projects above the tested configuration, validate a representative clip before committing the entire recording.
How should I compare speaker limits in 2026?
Record the product, engine, plan, review date and whether the number applies to voices, visible faces or concurrent tasks. Pair that information with a representative source clip and the reviewed output. This page will be updated as precisely scoped documentation and reproducible results become available.
